Alcoholic Beverages with Warning Labels

Following the example of the graphic warnings on cigarette packs, EU experts are now considering mandatory written warnings on bottles of alcoholic beverages. Studies confirm that alcohol abuse increases the risk of cancer.
Univ. Prof. Dr. Dirk von Lewinski, an expert with W&G Wine & Health, has analyzed the most significant studies on this subject and concludes: "A carcinogenic effect is generally only observed in cases of alcohol abuse. However, for breast cancer in women, even moderate alcohol consumption may contribute to an increased cancer risk."
This ongoing debate often blurs the lines between different factors, leading to misinterpretations and generalizations.
W&G Wine & Health consistently advocates for MODERATE (red) wine consumption—which means 1 to 3 glasses per day.
