Courage to Speak the Truth

Moderate wine consumption is healthy. More and more advocates of this view are stepping forward in the media. The newspaper Der Standard/Gesundheit reported on March 12, 2019, stating:
"However, small amounts (…) can have positive effects, particularly on vascular diseases. For ischemic strokes, which account for about 90% of such conditions, this is well-documented," confirmed neurologist Stefan Kiechl from MedUni Innsbruck.
He continued: "Red wine is considered the healthiest form of alcohol. The phenols, tannins, and catechins it contains may have anti-inflammatory properties."
At W&G Wine & Health, we appreciate this scientific support. We, too, recommend MODERATE wine consumption, which means one to two glasses (125 ml each) per day. However, these wines must contain sufficient amounts of polyphenols and flavonoids to provide real health benefits.
