Pleasure Foods and the Heart – Coffee, Alcohol, and Chocolate from a Cardiovascular Perspective

Society of Physicians: Symposium on March 23, 2022, at 7 PM in Billrothhaus, Frankgasse 8, 1090 Vienna

The heart takes center stage at this symposium, where experts will explore how well-known pleasure foods impact cardiovascular health.
On the topic of alcohol – balancing health benefits and risks, Univ. Prof. Dr. Dirk von Lewinski from the Department of Cardiology at MedUni Graz will present the latest research findings.

Prof. Lewinski is a member of the W&G Wine & Health expert team (www.wein-gesund.at) and specializes in studying the effects of polyphenols in red wine on health. Previous studies have demonstrated that moderate wine consumption—especially red wine—can reduce the risk of heart attack by up to 50%, lower blood pressure, and slow the aging process of cells.
