Why Red Wine?

When we speak about MODERATE wine consumption today and in the future, we always mean enjoyment with balance and responsibility. Any form of abuse is harmful and must be rejected unconditionally. To prevent misuse, society should approach the topic of alcohol consumption with an open and relaxed mindset.
W&G Wine & Health was founded to research and communicate the connection between MODERATE wine consumption and its positive impact on human well-being and health. W&G analyzes wines for their phenol content. Phenols are present in dissolved form in wine and have high bioavailability, meaning the body can efficiently absorb and utilize them.
The phenol content varies significantly among wines. W&G analyses have shown that some red wines contain up to five times the phenol levels of others. In other words: Not all red wines are the same. W&G first determines the phenol content and certifies the tested wines with the W&G Quality Seal, using a point-based system.
Polyphenols are also found in cocoa beans, apples, grapes, aronia berries, and green tea.
